Lustigman, 73, announced he was hanging up his boots after his final game for Brady Maccabi B against EHRS Stonegrove in the MMFL second division.

Having joined Kingsheath United in the MSFL in 1968, Lustigman stands down with an unblemished career – he has never been booked or sent off in 59 years of AJY and Maccabi football.

Lustigman said: “Notwithstanding my age, it’s actually upcoming knee surgery that has forced my retirement but I take with me wonderful memories of so many players that I have played with and coached.

“Of course, I will continue to remain involved  as chairman of the Masters League and thank all those players and referees with whom I shared so may happy times.”
