Giorgi through to round two at US Open

Camila Giorgi, 26, marched into the second round of the US Open following a crushing 6-4, 6-1 win over Whitney Osuigwe at Flushing Meadow.

The Italian continued her impressive form – after reaching the last eight at Wimbledon – with a powerful display against the America, securing the win in just over an hour.

Things look set to get tougher for Giorgi who will face 16^th seed Venus Williams in round two.

Diego Schwartzman, Noah Rubin, Julia Glushko and Yoni Erlich will also feature in the New York grand slam event.
