Newly-crowned champions Redbridge B registered their 11th league victory of an outstanding campaign, with star man DANIEL GARFINKLE grabbing a treble against relegated Brixton.
Further strikes from Scott Oldstein and Adam Bernstein helped RJC complete the double over Brixton.
Lining up for their first match in eight weeks, and the first since being crowned champions, Redbridge made the short trip to Clowes to take on an already relegated Brixton.
Redbridge started the game as though they hadn’t played for ages and lacked sharpness throughout. Matt Kemp, starting in goal on his return from Uni kept Redbridge in the game with a string of good saves.
Brixton's early pressure paid off when a rash challenge in the area from RJC defender Jordan Sapler earned Brixton a penalty. The resultant spot-kick was missed but this served to galvanise a highly-motivated Brixton who took the lead with another penalty, with Jamie Kent making amends for his earlier miss.
Redbridge were way off the pace and went into the break trailing. Manager Jon Jacobs reminded his players that they weren’t champions for nothing and demanded that the second half was one to entertain the capacity crowd at Clowes.
The wind and rock-hard surface were no excuse but the technical ability of the Solossi boys and James Berkley was not working on a day where top-scorer Daniel Garfinkle was misfiring.
However, the game changed with a goalkeeping howler. Scott Oldstein sent a speculative shot goalwards, the Brixton keeper made a hash of it, fumbling the ball which trickled agonisingly into the net.
RJC were ahead just two minutes later; the move of the game, which was "totally out of keeping with the match," saw Nathan Sollosi sens a beautiful diagonal ball straight on to the foot of Garfinkle who smashed a first-time half-volley into the corner of the net.
Brixton’s heads dropped and Jacobs delivered a triple substitution with the A team of Sam Rank, Adam Bernstein and Amir Nathan to deliver the coup de grace.
Once ahead, Redbridge went through the gears and goals 3, 4 and 5 came from Bernstein and Garfinkle completing his treble.
As bad as the first half had been, RJC were "superb" in the second 45 to sign off a memorable season in style.
5 goals to 1 win for Redbridge and now the palnning can begin for next season.
RJC boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: "Fair play to Brixton,it would have been easy to follow the same route as other teams and pull out but they came and for the first 45 minutes, they were the better team."
