There were lots of quality strikes on Matchday 9 of the MGBSFL, but only one had the opposition and match referee applauding, and that goal, ladies and gentleman, was scored by Mark Smith of L'Equipe.
In the words of his manager, Nick Stern, Smith "picked the ball up at the in the centre circle, picked his head up to see no one free so harboured his inner Lionel Messi, took it round one man, nutmegged a second, put a third on his back and he still wasn’t in the box and the ball had not been more than a millimetre away from his foot. A shot was definitely on now but Mark was not done. He took it past their centre-half, cut back to embarrass the other centre half, dodged an attempt to hack him down in the box before one final dummy/cut-back/ Cruyff-turn and then slotted the ball past the keeper.
"You will never see a goal like it, and I have been in Jewish football for 20 years!"
It was one of those moments when you had to pinch yourself to make sure you were really there.

BEST OF THE REST
- ANDREI GRAYSON (Blizzard Storm) - scored "the goal of the season" - 30 yards out into the top corner
- DAN GORDON (Faithfold C) - 30-yard free-kick. A Ronaldo-esque run up, with the the ball looping over the wall and swerving in past the keeper
- AVI MOCTON (Hendon Utd SC B) - curled a delicious curling shot high into the net
- JONO NESBITT (Hendon Utd SC B) - added to his season's tally with another cracking finish which was remarkably similar to Mocton's
- ROB BENSON (Temple Fortune) - struck an impressive free kick into the corner of the net from just outside the box
- KANE GILBERY (FC Team A) - to bring the game against Hendon to 2-2, Kane picked the ball up behind the half-way line and drove towards goal, taking it past three players and rocketing it into the top left hand corner
- BAR HARIELY (FC Team A) - to bring it to 3-3 with two minutes on the clock, after a corner and bit of a scramble, it fell to Bar with his back to goal, who span and with a scissor-kick put it in the top left-hand corner, unstoppable and unbelievable tekkers!
