The Bananas produced the goods in a tight encounter at the Cinderella Hairena thanks to goals from Ricky Lawrence, Ashley Burns and home debutant David Newman.
Los Blancos started the brighter and immediately called Michael Mirelman into action, forcing the keeper to tip a powerful header expertly over the bar from an early corner. Mirelman, who had been throwing up in the toilet moments earlier, ensured that the fans were calling him sick for all the right reasons.
At the other end, SPEC were causing havoc from a set piece of their own. New signing Newman headed onto the crossbar before another set play saw Rosenthal shoved into the back before the ref pointed to the spot. Ricky Lawrence kept his cool to dispatch his sixth goal of the season high into the top left corner.
Newman soon doubled the Banana’s advantage when he was allowed too much room in the Blancos box. The tricky frontman nodded home Berman’s fine cross with aplomb.
When the second half resumed, the next goal was always going to be vital, and despite Blancos’ best efforts they couldn’t find a way past the imposing SPEC goalie. A bout of Mirelmania broke out when the keeper majestically tipped an outrageous free-kick onto the bar before further fine handling from a series of tricky crosses.
Elsewhere, Marc Hecht and Nick Wallis, who had been dominant all match, were intrinsic in ensuring SPEC kept out the leagues most threatening strikeforce.
As the second half progressed, the SPEC midfield diamond shone bright and made the extra man tell - controlling possession and giving the opposition the run-around.
Skipper Ashley Burns made the three points safe converting a penalty not once but twice after having to retake the spot kick after the tireless Ricky Lawrence was adjudged to have been upended in the box by a rash slide tackle.
Director of Hair Extensions Jeremy Lawrence posted on Facebook: "Well played today boys. I thought you were excellent."
Blancos player-manager Adam Hersh told JC Sport: "SPEC were the team that turned up on the day. It was a very lacklustre performance from LB, not helped by a much slower 3G pitch than we are used to playing.
"In truth there were very few chances for each team, but two questionable penalties and a mix-up between the goalkeeper and defender were the difference.
We'll look to out this behind us and come out all guns blazing next week when we host Glenthorne."
