How better to celebrate International Hummus Day than with a trip to Israel?
May 13, 2020 15:38In a few hours I'll be in Tel Aviv.
Of course I'm not actually hopping onto a plane - if only...
No, at 7pm, I'll be jumping onto onto the internet and Zooming to Tel Aviv, to watch the wonderful Ariel Rosenthal, make hummus.
Rosenthal really knows his stuff — he's the chef behind fantastic falafel joint, Hakosem. I wrote about him here.
It may be controversial, but I think he serves up the best falafel and hummus in the city.
And guess what? To celebrate the creamy chickpea paste, Ariel will be showing me, and an invited group, how he makes his. I have boiled my chickpeas and remembered to keep the murky cooking water. I'm good to go. I'll share his tips tomorrow.
