The JC can now announce the winners for the second year of the Daniel Sacks Memorial Award for Outstanding Young Athletics Achievement.

This award scheme recognises the achievements of UK Jewish athletes aged 11-16 in adjudicated competitions.

The boy's winner is Jamie Cohen, 12, of St Martin's School and Northwood & Harrow AC. Cohen demonstrated his versatility by achieving national ranking in the 800m, 1,500m and high jump, with performances of 2:34.86, 5:08.03 and 1.42 respectively. He achieved his best 1,500m coming second in the London Prep Schools Championships, and his highest jump in winning a Young Athletes League match.

Trafford AC sprinter Ellie Edwards wins the girl's accolade. Edwards, 14, ran PBs of 12.80 at 100m and 25.82 at 200m. Her remarkable season included a string of victories in both her events at the Young Athletes League.
