After two seasons of great success, I find myself in the midst of my first managerial crisis.

It was Adam Fegan who got me into MSFL management after injuries cut short my playing career. Together, we steered the team to the Division One title and finished fourth in the Premier Division the following season, as well as reaching the last four of the Peter Morrison.

Adam recently accepted a job coaching one of Wingate & Finchley's youth teams and I now offer my pearls of wisdom in the dugout alongside club chairman Jonathan Adelman.

To say the boys have faced a testing start would be an understatement. We have failed to win any of our first six games and still have to play the likes of Hendon United Sports Club A, my title favourites, and London Maccabi Lions A twice.

I'm not sure if league chairman David Wolff put the mockers on us when he tipped North London Raiders A for the title over the summer, although it would be fair to say that we're struggling to cope with injuries to key players.

In a bid to stop the rot, I signed keeper Dan Cohen, who recently returned from a coaching at a football camp in America. Jonathan has also flashed the cash to bring in another two players.

Managing a football team is easy when you are winning and confidence is high. On Sunday we play our B team who beat us last month. It's hard to believe that it's only October and this looks like a must-win game.

● Having first reported Omri Altmann's move to Fulham in March, it's good to hear that the Israeli teenager is doing so well as a second-year scholar. Arsenal and Liverpool didn't like the look of him but it's clear that the former Under 17 captain is destined for big things.

● Blizzard Storm manager Simon Linden has called for an investigation after his full-back Matt Jaffa, formerly of UJIA, arrived wearing his former club's shirt and scored an own goal within 30 seconds. UJIA won 2-1.

● Players from Woodford Wanderers took a leaf out of the Calender Girls' book when posing naked for a publication that did not get off the ground. You can find the photos on Facebook but it could explain why Alex Aviram's men have made such a poor start.

● Faithfold midfielder Alex Kaye is my JC MSFL Player of the Month. He has scored three goals so far this season.
