Maccabi Tel Aviv face Europa League elimination following a disappointing 2-0 defeat in Paris on Thursday night.
Tel Aviv were beaten 2-0 by PSG at the Parc de Princes, with a goal in each half from Peguy Luyindula and Guillaume Hoarau leaving them with an uphill task ahead of next Thursday’s second leg in Israel.
Avi Nimni, the Tel Aviv manager, said: “This is a result we can overturn, even though we are playing a quality side.
“When you concede two goals on the road you must score, but unfortunately that didn’t happen even though we had our chances. We can't afford to miss such opportunities.”
Before the playoff second leg, Tel Aviv tackle Maccabi Haifa in the opening round of Ligat Ha’al matches.
