Rene Meulensteen, the former Manchester United coach, is set to be appointed manager of Maccabi Haifa.
The Dutchman, who also had a spell as Fulham manager three seasons ago, spent 11 seasons at Old Trafford by working his way up from youth and reserve coach before becoming Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant.
The 52-year-old has now replaced Roni Levy in charge of Haifa who finished last season fourth and 23 points behind champions Maccabi Tel Aviv last season.
Haifa have already been eliminated from the Europa League but are pinning their hopes on Meulensteen to lead them to glory.
