Maccabi Tel Aviv returned to the top of the Israeli Premier League following a 1-1 draw against Betar Jerusalem.
Eliran Atar put Maccabi ahead with a stunning individual effort five minutes into the second half, but Kobi Moyal equalised for Betar in a match played in front of 28,000 fans at the National Stadium in Ramat Gan.
Maccabi coach Oscar Garcia said: "We deserved to win as we had many chances to score , while they scored with their only chance from a set piece."
Betar coach Eli Cohen commented: "We didn't show up, but I’m pleased with the result because Maccabi were in control."
Maccabi lead city rivals Hapoel on goal difference.
