HERTS SENIOR COUNTY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION
OLD PARMITERIANS 1 LONDON LIONS 6
Two more goals from top-scorer Max Kyte helped London Lions hit relegation-threatened Parmiters for six.
As has been the case so often this season, Lions started brightly and a fine individual goal from Adam Arnold on the quarter hour mark, who skipped through several tackles and finished with aplomb to open his Lions account and give the blues a 1-0 lead.
But Parmiters defied their lowly position and from a rare corner the ball wasn’t cleared by the Lions defence and the home team equalised.
This fired the Lions and within 60 seconds Austin Lipman crossed for Kyte to power a header past the Parmiters keeper 2 -1.
Adam Burchell went close on 37 but the score remained with Lions holding a slender lead at the break.
The second half was one-way traffic and a terrific Charlie Kasler free-kick gave the Parmiters keeper no chance 3-1.
Burchell got on the scoresheet with a tidy finish inside the six-yard box after good play by skipper Josh Kennet to make it 4-1.
And Burchell then became the provider providing Kyte with his second and give Lions a 5 -1 lead.
With 10 to go Austin Lipman got his customary goal – this time a simple finish and an assist from Kyte.
A comprehensive and disciplined win and competition for places growing as injuries recover and we come to the business end of the season.
