The England contingent regained the Pesach Cup - which they had lost last year on penalties - with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over a strong Israeli Olim team.
Played under the floodlights at Wingate Stadium Netanya, the England team was led by David Garbacz and Edward Misrahi, the visitors, who featured a blend of youth and experience, took the Olim XI by surprise.
A team featuring Dan Jacobs, Danny daggers and Yoav Lebens offered a solid spine, combining with 16 and 17-year-old talent, including Zachary Garbacz Max Mizrahi and Daniel Friedman plus some other talented MSFL regulars.
And it was the visiting team who forged ahead early on through Lebens after a well-worked free-kick routine practiced on Hertzliyah beach and they controlled the game until the Olim equalised following a contentious decision where it looked like their forward had fouled Joel Barnett. Despite that setback England responded well and substitute Elliot Moslawy put the Brits ahead with a well-taken goal just before half-time.
England dominated the second half, the highlight of which was a superb solo effort from Rocky Spitzer and a penalty converted by the excellent Tom Prais after Simon Mizrahi had been brought down in the box.
Reflecting on the victory, England joint-manager David Garbacz said: "This was a wonderful match played in a fabulous spirit on a beautiful pitch.
"It was an honour to co-manage the British team together with Edward Mizrahi and we were both very proud of how our team played despite hardly knowing each other.
"Everyone played superb and it felt great to lift the cup in Israel in such a beautiful setting. We would like to thank David Kyte, who is the inspiration behind this great annual event and Yoni Sidi, the manager of the Olim. It was an honour to be involved and well done to everyone who took part in both sides."
