JFS still

July 10, 2009 15:19

Could commentators please repeat again and again, firstly, that the Court did not say that the LFS's criterion is racist. It just said that it violated the Rac Relations Act. The court's job is to interpret the law, not to make moral judgements in controversial matters. Secondly, please remind readers again and again that this ruling applies to state-funded or state-subsidized schools. Parents who want their children to have a school with a different admissions policy are free to send them to wholly private institutions - as is the case in most haredi families.
