Role Summary

The role will require a highly organised, creative, and detail-oriented Events Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute our in-person and virtual events. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys bringing people together, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will be responsible for end-to-end event management, from conceptualisation and logistics to promotion, execution, and post-event analysis. The role will nurture client relationships and identify fresh opportunities within the Jewish and wider UK market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and execute a variety of events for the JC, including community gatherings, political events, panel discussions and cultural events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, the Community Editor, community organisations and sponsors to deliver successful events that align with the brand’s mission and values.
  • Develop event concepts, themes and budgets, and manage all logistical aspects, including venue selection, catering (when required), audio-visual equipment, branding and logistics.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual event calendar aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct market and audience research to inform event strategy.
  • Coordinate with senior managers to promote events through various channels, including print, website and social media.
  • Manage event timelines, schedules and budgets to ensure smooth execution and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee event set-up, including design, seating arrangements and marketing materials.
  • Coordinate with CEO, Editor, speakers, panelists and community leaders to ensure their needs are met and that they have a positive experience at events .
  • Stay updated on Jewish community trends, cultural practices and relevant topics to bring innovative ideas to the table.
  • Oversee all event logistics including venue selection, catering, audiovisual setup, travel, vendors, and staffing.
  • Manage virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams, webinars, digital conference tools).
  • Ensure smooth production of online events, including rehearsals, tech checks, and live support.
  • Coordinate run-of-show schedules and speaker preparation.
  • Ensure brand consistency and an exceptional attendee experience across all event types.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective planning and accurate forecasting.
  • Negotiate contracts with venues, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Work with commercial and editorial teams to create promotional materials, email campaigns, landing pages, and social media content.
  • Manage event registration, ticketing, and attendee engagement strategies.
  • Track and analyse event performance metrics to optimise future events
  • Lead post-event debriefs, compile feedback from attendees, sponsors and internal stakeholders, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed event reports including attendance, engagement, revenue, and ROI metrics.
  • Maintain an organised archive of event assets, recordings, and documentation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven experience in event coordination, preferably in the media or non-profit sector.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, community organisations and sponsors.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop unique event concepts and overcome challenges.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
  • Passion for the Jewish community and understanding of its unique audience.
  • Outstanding communication and people abilities.
