V The Shin Bet security service and Israeli police jointly arrested a gang in Be’er Sheva that was planning violent attacks on Arabs.

Six suspects, including two soldiers on active duty and one minor, were remanded in custody on Sunday and are expected to face terror charges.

Gang members are alleged to have carried out a number of violent attacks in recent months and to have been planning further assaults. The targets were Arab men they believed were dating Jewish girls.

While none of the suspects is known to be a member of other organisations, at least one has admitted to having been influenced by online material from Lehava, a far-right group which campaigns against assimilation and which has protested against marriage and relationships between Arabs and Jews
