UJS offers advice on clearing

Students looking for a university can get a rundown on Jewish life on campus from the Union of Jewish Students helpline

If you haven’t got the university place you wanted and are now going through clearing, the Union of Jewish Students has a helpline to advise on Jewish facilities on campus.

UJS president Josh Holt says, “Going to university is the start of a really exciting period, but it can be daunting, especially if you don’t get the A-level or college results you hoped for.

“So if you’re doing clearing or adjustment and would like to find out about Jewish life on campuses you hadn’t previously considered — from social life and synagogues to kosher food and accommodation — just give us a call.”

While Birmingham, Leeds and Nottingham are powerhouses of Jewish student life, Liverpool and Scottish universities are apparently becoming increasingly popular destinations.

The clearing helpline, 020 7424 3295, is open during the day until the end of next week.
