Mosaic Jewish Primary School in Roehampton has appointed Jo Gordon as its new headteacher.

Deputy head of the Strictly Orthodox Pardes House Primary School in Finchley for the past nine years, she will be moving to the cross-communal primary in September.

She said she was  “delighted and honoured to be appointed headteacher. I am very keen to get to know families, as well as pupils and staff.”

Her experience as a deputy had shown her that “a happy, effective school depends on all of us working together,” she said.  “I have certainly had a very warm welcome from governors, staff and pupils so far.”

She has been working with acting deputy head Shreeji Patel and the senior leadership to ensure a smooth transition for the start of the new school year. Mosaic’s previous head Nerissa Bear left in April.

Shirley Lee, founding chair of the MJPS governing body, said, “Mosaic is a wonderful example of a successful and inclusive faith school and we look forward to welcoming Ms Gordon to our community.”
