Scotland’s only Jewish school, Calderwood Lodge Primary Glasgow, has earned a glowing report from inspectors who found its Jewish values a “major strength”.

Unique among Jewish schools in the UK for sharing its campus with a Catholic school, the primary was rated “very good” in all four areas of evaluation by Education Scotland – one below the top grade of excellent on a six-point scale.

Headteacher since 2022, Jacqueline Dunn was praised for having led it “very capably through a period of significant change over the last few years”, fostering a “strong culture of mutual respect and trust”.

Its 129 pupils benefited from a “warm, welcoming and highly nurturing ethos”, attained very well in English and maths, and received national accreditation for their “positive work around children’s rights, Holocaust education and digital literacy”.
