Miriam Kaye, the deputy head of Sacks Morasha Primary in Finchley, has been chosen as the new headteacher of Mathilda Marks-Kennedy Jewish Primary in Mill Hill.
She will succeed Jillian Dunstan, who is bowing out after 11 years in charge.
Mrs Kaye came with “a wealth of experience, passion for education and a firm belief in maintaining the nurturing and warm environment for which MMK is well known and loved,” chairman of governors Stuart Appleman and vice-chairman Aaron Livingston told parents.
She arrives in September, in time for the start of the school’s jubilee celebrations.
The governors said Mrs Dunstan had provided “strong and focused leadership” and they were “exceptionally proud” of achievements during that period such as an outstanding Jewish studies inspection.
