Clore Tikva, the pluralist primary in Redbridge, has confirmed interim head Leigh Wertheim permanently in the role.
Mrs Wertheim, who was previously deputy head, took the reins at the beginning of term.
"Having been part of Clore Tikva School for 25 years, I am incredibly proud to now take on the role of headteacher on a permanent basis,” she said.
“This school and its community mean a great deal to me, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our dedicated staff, pupils and families.
“At the heart of my vision for Clore Tikva is the Jewish value of ‘love your neighbour as yourself', ensuring that kindness, respect and care for one another remain central to everything we do, and that every child feels valued, supported and able to flourish."
Chair of governors Louise Dorling, announcing the appointment, said: “I look forward to working alongside Mrs Wertheim and her team in ensuring that we continue to provide the very best possible education for all your children in a caring and safe environment that will enable every child to flourish and reach their potential."
