Pluralist Shenley primary Clore Shalom has turned a corner with a good rating from Ofsted five years after being graded as a school that “requires improvement”.
“There have been many challenges over the last couple of years but the hard work, dedication and determination of our entire community has paid off,” said headteacher Karen Cohen, who was appointed three years ago.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the team, and huge praise also has to go to the children and parental body, because they have made us want to keep driving forward and have supported us every step of the way.”
She was particularly delighted with inspectors’ recognition of “significant improvements” in the quality of education.
Ofsted said the leadership had “worked tirelessly” for progress and Mrs Cohen had “created a cohesive team where staff share her high expectations”.
Governors’ chair Katie Adams welcomed “an outcome that the entire school community deserves. Our headteacher, the senior leadership team and staff have worked with efficiency, determination and passion over the past few years to secure good outcomes across the board for the children at Clore Shalom.”
