Board of Deputies president Vivian Wineman has offered to meet signatories of a petition calling on the Board to declare support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
More than 1,000 people signed an online letter after Deputies last month rejected a resolution in support of two states which had been proposed by its executive.
The petition was organised by Hannah Weisfeld, who is planning the launch of a new Israel campaign group inspired by the American J Street.
Ms Weisfeld said the signatories included many "professional and lay leaders of our community".
The new group, which is expected to launch officially within a few months, is bringing over Akiva Eldar, the political columnist of the left-wing Israeli newspaper, Ha'aretz, for a speaking tour next week.

Meanwhile, Peace Now UK held its first public meeting in London on Tuesday for almost two years.
Its chairman Paul Usiskin said concern had been rising "at some of the legislation going through the Knesset which seems discriminatory against Arabs, such as the loyalty oath".
A panel discussion attended by 80 people, "got round to the nitty-gritty of Anglo-Jewish concerns. The panel included Israel's deputy ambassador Alon Roth-Snir to answer points raised."
