A white-collar boxing night raised a knockout £20,000 towards new premises for the Zone youth club in Leeds.

Jewish boxers went head-to-head in six bouts, cheered on by 250 people at a suite at Leeds United's Elland Road stadium.

Boxers included 32-year-old property company boss Nick Statman, who makes trips to Vegas to see the big fights. Although he lost his contest - "my opponent came out with all guns blazing"- the important thing was "the great cause".

Organiser Daniel Buck reported that "the atmosphere was very good with the crowd getting behind the fighters".

Proceeds will help the Zone reach a £1 million target to finance a move from its Moortown premises to a newly-built youth and sports facility, including all-weather pitches, on the Brodetsky Jewish Primary School campus.
