A water company has denied reports that it has agreed to anti-Israel activists’ demands for water meters made in Israel not to be fitted at their homes.

Southern Water has installed more than 300,000 meters made by the Galilee-based water technology firm Arad during the past three years.

The company has said it had “no plans at all” to abandon the project and would fit a further 200,000 Israeli systems by 2015.

But a campaign by Israel boycotters has seen a number of householders around the south coast area refuse the meters.
