The Chigwell based 37-year-old mother of three worked as a recruitment consultant in the City before having children. Together with husband Andrew she fundraises for Jewish Care
● Why Jewish Care?
I have been involved with the charity for many years. As a child I attended Jewish Care's Sinclair House community centre and as a teenager I served on various committees. I began volunteering after going on a mission of local Jewish Care facilities. I was so impressed with how the charity helps our community.
● What does your current volunteering role involve?
Andrew and me invite local people to see Jewish Care facilities in missions. We have increased the number of patrons and volunteers from our area, which is wonderful. As chair of the Local Angels I organise fundraising events and have raised almost £30,000 over the past two years.
● What do you most enjoy about being a volunteer?
I enjoy seeing the ideas go from a committee meeting to the finished event and it's great to see people enjoying themselves and doing so much good at the same time. I've also made some wonderful new friends.
● What is your most memorable volunteering moment?
When the Local Angels received a letter of thanks from the local Mitkadem Centre for Wellbeing, saying how much benefit it had received from the money we have raised.
