America is awaiting a response to its two-year plan for a two-state agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

According to reports, the plan was presented to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu during his visit to Washington in May. He was reportedly given six weeks to provide his response, starting from Obama's address Cairo address last week.

The plan was also presented to Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman and Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit during their visit to the US, the pan-Arab daily Asharq Al-Awsat said.

The Egyptian leadership is reported as taking the initiative seriously, but is assessing that Palestinian divisiveness could impede its implementation.
