Armenia’s new luxury hotel
Anyone wanting to retrace their family’s roots in Armenia, or discover the country as it is today, has a new luxury option when it comes to places to stay.
The Alexander, A Luxury Collection Hotel, is opening in Yerevan in summer 2017, near the capital city’s Republic Square.
With 114 rooms, including 17 suites, guests will be close to Yerevan’s History museum, National Art Gallery, and the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, with its collection dating back to the 9th century. There’s also a spa and indoor pool planned for the site along with a restaurant and bar.

All aboard the new Swedish ski route
EasyJet is launching a new ski route to Sweden from London Gatwick, its first service to the country from the UK, flying from December 11 to Åre Östersund.
Running once a week on Sundays during the winter, fares will start from £30.49 one way, taking passengers to the Jämtland province, home to the Alpine World Championships and Sweden’s best downhill ski resorts including Vemdalen, not to mention 50 bars and restaurants in Åre.
Östersund is also a great destination for families, with dog sledding and snowmobile safaris through the wintery landscape, plus the Winter Park, with ice castles, ice sculptures and a huge skating rink all aimed at children. If you’re more ambitious, you can even try out the Medvinden, a 50km skating track on Storsjön lake.
