Tom Piamenta is pretty chuffed. He is a partner at Israeli start-up companyWiseStamp, which has been declared best Social Media Gadget of 2009 for its email signatures facility.
WiseStamp enables users to transform their email sign-offs into a tool for self-expression and self-promotion.
The signatures contain updated content, allowing the user to share whatever information they want, such as their latest Twitter or Facebook statuses or news and posts from their favorite blogs and publications. Mr Piamenta's partners at WiseStamp are fellow Israelis Sasha Gimelshtein, Orly Izhaki and Tzvika Avnery.
Mr Piamenta, who is in his 30s, tells People: "Until recently, email signatures had been very boring and static, and there was no real reason for people to look at them. We are making them become dynamic. You can switch and change between different signatures To get the award is amazing."
The contest was organised by Mashable, one of the most influential social media blogs. Past winners include Facebook, Google Maps, Flickr, YouTube and Twitter.
