More than 100 people attended a Yom Hashoah service at Newcastle United Hebrew Congregation. Holocaust survivor Ben Helfgott told the audience that he was proud to be in Newcastle during the display of the exhibition about Janusz Korczak, as he had been instrumental, with the Jewish Museum, in putting together the exhibition. Newcastle Reform Synagogue also held a Yom Hashoah service, led by its president Bennie Ross.
