Apprentice winner Lee McQueen took on a fundraising task for Norwood last Wednesday, once again getting the better of fellow contestants Claire Young, Alex Wotherspoon, Helene Speight, Lucinda Ledgerwood and Raef Bjayou.

They were on their best behaviour before a sell-out 330 crowd at the City offices of Allen and Bovery for an evening organised by the charity’s Enterprise committee.

Mr McQueen won a series of challenges, among them a charity auction, a contest to sell goody bags to the audience and a quiz on the cost of items such as a kosher chicken. In a question-and-answer session, Mr McQueen said that “working with Sir Alan Sugar has been an education. Sir Alan is a very fair boss, and I’ve had a lot of meetings with him in the City. I’m happy with my new job, but I also know that I have to deliver.”  He complimented the charity on its “fantastic work”, particularly its Employment Service, assisting adults with learning disabilities.

Raef Bjayou promised to run for Norwood in next year’s London Marathon.
