Frustration for City hopeful Biton

articlemain

Nir Biton this week became the latest Israeli footballer denied access to the Far East due to visa complications.

The midfielder has impressed on duty for champions Manchester City in a series of pre-season matches as he looks to complete a move from AC Ashdod.

But when the Premier League champions flew to Malaysia, Biton, 20, was forced to stay back as they would not grant him a visa.

A star of the 2009 Maccabiah Games, Biton has played for City in three matches, including the recent 2-0 victory over Arsenal, where he played the full 90 minutes.

The player is on his second stint at Eastlands after impressing scouts on trial in January. At the time, the club were unable to obtain a work permit, and with only two full appearances for Israel, it appears he will continue to struggle for a dream move.
