The bar- and batmitzvah twins were born in Watford and now live in Bushey. Having attended Clore Shalom Primary, they are in their second year at Yavneh College. Benjamin is a keen footballer and Tottenham supporter and his prize possession is his new laptop computer. Jessica has a matching laptop, enjoys playing the guitar and loves shopping for new clothes
What was special about your simchah?
“Wow, it was the best day of my life,” Benjamin said. “I loved singing my portion in shul with all my family and friends there.” Jessica added that “Benji sung the Anim Zemirot and then did his Maftir and Haftorah. At the end of the service, I was called up to give my dvar Torah. I was nervous but it went well. I just loved it and I wish I could do it all again. It was also a very special day for the entire congregation as it was the first time our minister Rabbi Naftali Brawer had officiated over a joint bar/batmitzvah and he was excited too. They made an exception by inviting both mum and dad on to the bimah for each to read a special blessing to us.”
Tell us about the celebration
“It was on the Sunday at the Sartoria restaurant in the West End and it was fantastic,” the twins reported. “There were 150 of our friends and family dancing the night away. What an amazing weekend.”
