Love, life and laughs from two very Jewish mothers

The Los Angeles-based thirtysomething Jewish actors Jessica Chaffin and Jamie Denbo lay it on thick as the fiftysomething American Jewish mothers Ronna Glickman and Beverly Kahn, who punt their self-help book, "You'll Do A Little Better Next Time: a guide to marriage and re-marriage for Jewish singles", in a chat show.
Variously repeating, interrupting and scoring points off one another, eating copiously and copiously talking about eating, the heavily made-up duo are nothing if not self-indulgent.
Ronna, sporting tight-fitting leopard-patterned trousers and a highlighted head of hair, is hard-nosed and snobbish, while the many times-married, dowdily dressed Beverly is the needy one, full of nervous energy, malapropisms and gormless stares.
Much of the show is improvised (which perhaps partly explains why Beverly said "Yeah" about 500 times), and the two work pretty effectively off one another.
Their guestlist, which changes daily, included Lach, the Jewish founder of "Antihoot", New York's longest-running open stage, and the Liverpool medium Joe Power, performing respectively at The Gilded Balloon and Assembly @ Assembly Hall.
So if you fancy an OTT love-hate Jewish partnership, head on down.
