Chad Gad Yoh M. Oysher Arr. A. Ellstein
Tenor solo: Robert Brody
A rousing rendition of the song which ends the Passover Seder. Its structure is similar to The House that Jack built, and it features the kid that father bought, the cat, the dog, the stick, the fire, the water, the ox, the slaughterer and the angel of death, and the Holy One, Blessed be He.
This performance was from our recent tour to Israel in March 2009 where we performed in Ra’anana, Karmiel, Rishon-le-Tzion
Under our Musical Director Benjamin Wolf and with cantor Robert Brody, we sang synagogue music by 19th century composers Lewandowski and Sulzer, works by Israeli composers such as Gil Aldema and Yehezkel Braun, American music by Copland and Tom Lehrer, liturgical and folk music by British composers, and lighter numbers by John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Burt Bacharach.
Robert Brody has performed as a tenor Soloist in many of England’s concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall, South Bank, Barbican, and the Wigmore Hall. He has recorded various CDs including several as a soloist with the Zemel Choir, the London Jewish Male Choir, and the BBC Singers. He has performed in concerts in Romania, Israel, America, Canada, Lithuania, FSR and many other European countries. He has conducted Synagogue services throughout the UK, in Europe, Russia, America, and Israel. Robert was invited by BBC television to record in a rediscovered prayer room in the Theresienstadt concentration camp.
