There was a nostalgic evening in Edgware for more than 40 people who attended the Solomon Wolfson Primary in the immediate post-war era.
Jewish educator Flora Frank hosted an informal reunion for the former pupils of the then Ladbroke Grove school, some now in their eighties.
"It was a really special school, and our get-together was incredible," Mrs Frank reported. "There were cousins who had not met for years and a brother and sister who hadn't spoken to each other for 15 years, but were reconciled at the reunion.
"Also there were several non-Jewish pupils of the school, two with German backgrounds, whose parents had sent them to Solomon Wolfson in the hope that they would be more protected from post-war anti-German sentiment."
Mrs Frank, along with fellow organisers, Adrienne Magrill, Susan Harris and Sally Richards, found many reunion participants through the internet, particularly Friends Reunited.
