A performance of On The Rocks, Amy Rosenthal’s comedy about D H Lawrence, at Hampstead Theatre last Thursday raised over £7,500 for a fund in memory of her playwright father Jack, aiding bone-marrow cancer charity Myeloma UK.

Tracy-Ann Oberman and Ed Stoppard are among the play’s stars and the charity-night audience included Maureen Lipman, Jack Rosenthal’s widow and a Myeloma UK patron.

“My dad would have loved every minute of this beautifully directed production,” Ms Rosenthal said. “I am deeply proud to be able to raise some money for a great cause in his name.”
