July 1, 2013 10:14We launched Henry Fox over five years ago during the recession. It was the worst time to start a company, but it was also the making of us because we did not have a large and expensive firm to maintain.
Gaby and I were sitting by the pool in Tel Aviv when we decided to launch our recruitment company that specialises in fashion.
I hated my job and we both had experience in recruitment. There is a wide perception of the industry being dishonest — so we decided to be different and run the company our own way.
We now employ 20 people and work with leading brands like Arcadia and Jimmy Choo.
We’re selective in the clients we use and know their companies inside out. If you are not selective, you are not going to be the best.
That’s why we are successful and have doubled our profits year on year.
People have a fantastic experience with us and we have a 40 per cent referral rate — which is unusual in recruitment.
Gaby and I are both single mums and each work three days a week so we can spend time with our children. What’s the point of having lots of money if you can’t spend time with them?
Gaby and I are perfect partners. She’s all detail and I focus on the bigger picture — we are complete opposites but there’s a lot of respect there.
In September we are looking to open an executive branch with a special division for headhunting. We also want to go international — probably Hong Kong.
We are growing organically because our clients have requested that we give them this service.
