I'm amused that Rabbi Gelfand's criteria for pluralistic enterprises (JC 10th October) contains one about personal choice. Surely anyone to the right of Reform regards themeselves as personally commanded and therefore severely restricted in their entitlement to choose. This shouldn't stop them engaging: Orthodox Jews can reasonably argue that their way is the only authentic one and yet still sit down to listen and debate with the rest of us.
Your four key tenets, Shoshana, are understandably driven by a Reform agenda which sort of undermines their pluralistability (a word I just made up).
Still, a thoughtful article - thanks and yashar ko'ah.
