My post below on the Yazzmonster seems to have stirred a few of you, so I offer in addition this recent interview from the Press Gazette. Read it and try not to laugh out loud at the monster ego.
I thought when I read it that it had to be a Craig Brown pastiche, but no; it's the real thing.
This is my favourite answer:
In my head I am the equivalent of Steve Richards, I am in that class of columnist, I’ve had similar awards to him. I’m sorry, but I know I have influenced international politics, but I’m not there. In a sense having climbed a mountain that I was not meant to climb – and it was never easy – you still are exactly like the invisible staff who work in the toilet. Many in the business just don’t see you.
Yes, it's a disgrace that international histories do not credit her alongside Gorbachev and Reagan.
As for her last line; I don't think she's fit to be compared with toilet cleaners, who perform a useful servivce to society and receive very little reward for it. The Yazzmonster performs no useful role and is, whatever she is paid, ludicrously over rewarded.
