Winning gold in Rio

It may hardly, as we report this week, have been a glorious Olympics for Israel - simply not good enough, in the words of the Olympic Committee of Israel's Gili Lustig - but there were Jewish gold medal winners. There was even a British Jewish winner, of sorts.

Of, in fact, the four-legged sort. We have a small suggestion to the OCI which might improve Israel's performance next time round. The rules on the transfer of horses from representing one country to another are less stringent than for humans. They are, indeed, non-existent.

Horses are bought and sold at will. So how about buying Triple X? Israel would gain a gold medal winner. And maybe, in Rio in four years time, there could be a bred, if not born, Israeli gold medallist.
