Normal life in Israel

It is hardly something to celebrate that in recent years both a former Israeli president and now a former prime minister have been sent down for criminal offences. But in no other Middle Eastern nation could the law run its course in such a way. Investigations were carried out, charges made, and trials concluded — and the rest of Israel went about its normal business. No one in Israel even thinks to mention it — or the fact that the judge who sentenced Ehud Olmert was an Israeli Arab. So much for an apartheid state.
