Jewish women are often the butt of caricatures. But while there have always been wonderful Jewish female comedians - such as Joan Rivers - almost all have been American.
The new generation, led by the likes of Sarah Silverman and now Amy Schumer, appear to have inspired a growth in the number - and quality - of British Jewish female comedians, some of whom are performing at Edinburgh. Go, laugh, enjoy!
