When Elie Wiesel spoke, the powerful listened. And because he spoke up for humanity and decency, the world was a better place for his presence.

That, surely, is the best that any of us can hope for.

Some Israel-haters have traduced his memory, which says more than they realise about their own outlook. For the rest of us, we have lost a man who is genuinely irreplaceable.
