My favourite item in this morning's papers is the reply given to Rachel Sylvester when she tells Brown's people that he doesn't understand the Britons who build conservatories:
In fact, Brownites insist, the Prime Minister has a conservatory attached to his Scottish home.
That is such a wonderful piece of literalism. It is like
replying to the suggestion that William Hague did not promote kitchen
table conservatism, by saying that, on the contrary, he ate his
breakfast on such a table every day.
