I knew the perfect reward for my clever boy
August 5, 2020 06:54One of my son’s first words was cake. He demanded ‘cak’ at an alarmingly young age. Oh, how we kvelled over our early talker.
He’s still inordinately fond of a sweet treat — always focussed of his next sugary snack. It’s an unhealthy obsession which I’m constantly battling, but it doesn’t stop me treating him from time to time.
A couple of weeks ago, at his Leaver’s Assembly (Zoomed into our home) he was awarded a prize from his primary school for Academic Excellence. I would say it was well-deserved, (it was) but you’d accuse me of being a Jewish mother.
I am. And as a paid up balaboosta, wanted to reward my gorgeous boy with his favourite nosh.
