How do I tell my boss that I am in love with him? Why is Humpty Dumpty always portrayed as an egg? Should I tell my colleague he has a stain on his jumper?
No, I have not gone crazy. These are questions fielded by London friends Olly Mann and Helen Zaltzman as part of their award-winning podcast.
Called Answer Me This, the podcast is a weekly comedy show where listeners are invited to call, email or Skype questions to Mr Mann, 27, and Miss Zaltzman, 29, who will answer. Set up two years ago from Ms Zaltzman’s front room, Answer Me This is on target for one million downloads this year and has been nominated for the Best Internet Programme at the Sony Radio Academy Awards, taking place on Tuesday. It was recently voted an iTunes Podcast of the Year and has been named Critic’s Choice in several publications including The Times, Time Out and Q Magazine.
Ms Zaltzman, an editor from Crystal Palace, tells People: “This is beyond our wildest dreams. When we began we did not expect it to last longer than three weeks.
“It is nice to be able to provide people with something to listen to for free.” Mr Mann, who worked in television production until recently, admits they would both like the podcast to become a full-time occupation. “The two of us can chat for England. There is no secret agenda. We would like to use the podcast as a launch pad for a radio show.”
And in answer to the aforementioned questions: Maybe don’t; because he looks like one; and, if by “colleague” you mean boss, it is probably best just to stay away.
