Republic of Flixton strengthened their grip on the MJSL title after defeating reigning champions Haroldeans 3-1 in Manchester.

Republic, who are now two points clear of Manchester Maccabi 2nd with a game in hand, saw off the Merseysiders thanks to Rob Jacobs’ double and a James Rosenberg strike.

Haroldeans, who stormed to the league crown last season, hit the target through Sam Kersh, but defeat leaves them 11 points off the pace.

Charles Braunstein was on target for Leeds Maccabi 2nd as they drew 1-1 against Oakhill with the visitors claiming a point thanks to an own goal.
