Scrubs star Zach Braff is shortly to return to the small screen, starring in a new comedy Alex, Inc. for American broadcaster ABC.

He plays Alex Schuman, a radio journalist who gives up his secure job for new media by trying to launch a podcast company. “I don’t want to cheer people up any more, I want to engage their minds,” he says as he hands in his notice.

Braff not only plays the lead character but also directs and co-produces the new show.

Three years ago he portrayed a struggling actor in the film WIsh I Was Here, a Jewish family comedy, which he directed.
