Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview that his people should learn from Israelis 'how to live with conflict.'

Speaking to local media in Kyiv, the Jewish president of Ukraine said: “We need to learn to live with [the conflict]. We need to learn.

“We are prepared to keep fighting for a very long period of time… [while] minimizing the number of casualties. Like in Israel, for example. We can live like that.”

Zelensky was being interviewed by Ukrainian journalist Natalia Moseychuk in a video posted to his official YouTube channel.

He also later spoke about the relationship between the US and Ukraine, saying that he hoped for an "Israeli model" of support from America.

“The Israeli model… we will likely get this exact model. The Israeli model that includes weapons, technology, training, finances, etc.”

Earlier this year, Zelensky said that he was disappointed that no Israeli Prime Ministers had taken up his offer to visit Kyiv since the war began.

He said: "Netanyahu was invited to Kyiv, and I also invited the two prime ministers who preceded him [Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid] to Ukraine. In the meantime, the prime ministers change, and the result is the same," Zelenskyy told Kan News on Wednesday.

He also said that his country had requested military support from Israel but didn't receive it.

"Regarding the Iron Dome and other air defense systems that we would like to receive from our partners in Israel, we asked for them at the beginning of the war. The result is like the example of the prime ministers. Months have passed, with no result,"
